Our inspiration: A lifelong love for Halloween
Nightmare Creations Special Events was born from a deep-seated love for Halloween. From the excitement of trick-or-treating as children to the joy of handing out candy as adults, the magic of the season has always captivated us. Jon-Ross and Eddie, with their extensive experience building haunted houses since their teenage years, and even contributing to other established haunts in Calgary, bring unparalleled expertise to our creations. This lifelong passion is what makes our haunted houses and special events truly unique and terrifyingly fun.
Meet the masterminds behind the frights
The Nightmare Creations team is a family affair, fuelled by passion and years of experience. Maureen and Jon-Ross began with a simple one-hallway haunt on their driveway in Applewood in 2018, expanding it in 2019. After a break for their wedding in 2020, they moved to Bowness and teamed up with Eddie and Diane, creating a bigger event in their yard in 2022. By 2024, their vision grew even larger, securing permission from the Okotoks Lions Club to use the Campground, and the rest, as they say, is history! Jon-Ross and Eddie are the creative minds behind our terrifying house designs, while Maureen and Diane expertly manage all the essential behind-the-scenes operations. Maureen and Jon-Ross even tied the knot on Halloween in 2020, solidifying their dedication to all things spooky.
